My alarm would ring every morning at 4:30AM… 


And when it went off, my morning routine officially started.


For 30-minutes, I would run sprint around my 400 square foot apartment like a squirrel hopped up on Java Monster… 


And desperately try to get showered, dressed, and down to the bus stop so I could make it to them gym where I worked by the time my shift started at 6 o’clock. 


After that?

I’d spend 12+ hours a day wiping off sweat-soaked gym benches and pretending to care about my client’s Tuesday afternoon golf games and Italian vacations (“geez, it must be nice to be you” 🙄)


Then I’d come home at 7PM, face plant my bed, and wake up to do it all over again. 


It was EXHAUSTING.


And even though I desperately wanted to quit my job and build a business that gave me FREEDOM… 


… I was STUCK.

I was already working 60-70 hours a week just to keep food on the table. 


So trying to find the time or energy to build a BUSINESS when I barely had the time to brush my teeth seemed like a mean joke. 


But I knew it was my only option. 


And I was determined to find a way to make it happen.. 

For YEARS I Tried Every Gimmick, Quick Fix, and “Success Habit” I Could Find

I tried following the Tony Robbins style “Hour of Power”... 


Waking up even EARLIER so I could meditate, read, and go for pitch black morning walks in 0 degree winter weather. 


But after a few weeks of almost passing out on the gym floor… I gave up and decided that the “giant” within me needed that extra hour of sleep every morning.


I tried to hustle harder and build my business on the weekends… giving up the only down time I had in hopes of earning my freedom. 

But the extra work days just added to my stress… making me more anxious… and sapping ALL of the joy out of my weeks (with almost nothing to show for it). 


I tried Getting Things Done, the Pomodoro technique, the Kanban, SMART goals, and pretty much anything else I could find on the early internet… 


But none of them brought me closer to fulfilling my dream of being an entrepreneur (or reduced the number of sweaty barbells I had to wipe down).  


I didn’t know what to do. 


So in a last ditch effort, I reached out to the only person I could think of for advice.


An entrepreneur named Mark Ford (you might know him as Michael Masterson) who ran the blog Early to Rise.

Like me, Mark came from humble beginnings… but he’d managed to make MILLIONS with his publishing empire and build an amazing life for himself and his family.

So I figured, if anyone could tell me what to do… it was him. 


On a whim, I decided to write him an email and ask for help. 


I told him about my crazy work schedule. How much I hated my job. And how badly I wanted to build a business that gave me a LIFE (not just a living).

What surprised me about Mark’s response was how “stupid simple” it was.

I say “weird” because I’d never tried ANYTHING like it before.

So I decided to suspend my disbelief and give it a shot. 


Without expecting much… I began implementing the simple routine he taught me every morning on my way to work. 


And after 60-days, I was SHOCKED.

Even though it was “just” a simple workout program in an ugly Microsoft Word document (because I didn’t know how to create a PDF–and honestly, I still don’t).

I was still a broke, burned out, on-the-verge-of-losing-my-💩 personal trainer.

And as I gained more momentum, I started to wake up feeling something I hadn’t felt since I started college… 


EXCITEMENT. 


It didn’t matter how bad my days at the gym went, how many times my boss yelled at me, or how badly I wanted to punch out one of my spoiled “Why can’t you just lift the weight for me?” clients.

As long as I completed that 15-minute practice… I had won the day.

With my product complete… I continued my daily practice. 


But now, my sights were set on building the BUSINESS behind it. 


Creating landing pages… writing sales copy… setting up order forms.


And after another two months of following Mark’s advice… I officially launched my business.  


And only a few days later, I opened up my email to a notification that would change my life forever.

I made my FIRST sale! 


Even though most people don’t think of $37 as “life changing money”....
